Storm Surge: Life Lessons I Learned from Hurricane Ike and How You Can Rise Above Life’s Storms
By Kristen Ethridge
I need your help. Almost two years ago (on the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Ike) I released a little book called Storm Surge: Life Lessons I Learned From Hurricane Ike and How You Can Rise Above Life’s Storms. I wrote it because as crazy as it sounds, Hurricane Ike became a positive thing in my life, not the worst thing that ever happened to me–and it surprised people when I told them that.
I realized that not everyone goes through a hurricane, but we all go through life’s storms, and we can all rise above. I also designed it to be the non-fiction “story behind the stories” of my Port Provident: Hurricane Hope fiction series. And I made it free because this book is about hope and you can’t charge for hope because Jesus already paid the tab.
Well, tonight, I looked on Amazon and noticed something amazing. Storm Surge has broken into Amazon’s top 1000 (free) and is #1 (free) in the packed and highly-competitive category of memoir and is almost in the top 100 (free) of ALL non-fiction on Amazon.
I need your help. This book was written for such a time as this. There are people on the Texas Gulf Coast tonight who need hope. There are people all over America tonight watching Texas and Louisiana and wondering about hurricanes and the aftermath–and they need hope too. It’s why I wrote this book.
Will you share this post or this link? The book is free…it won’t cost anyone anything. I just want to bring hope to America tonight. I want to see how high this book can go. Not for me, but because people need hope and to know they can rise above.
