Why I wrote Deadly Secrets by Margaret Daley:
Deadly Secrets is my 10th and last book in Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations Series. When I started this series, I wanted to show a strong woman in different occupations and situations and how she deals with tragedy and grief. I wanted to have a story about a woman who left the man she loved at the altar. What would make her do that?
Why I wrote Cold Terror by Susan Sleeman:
As I worked on my White Knights series about characters who voluntarily left the military and now work in law enforcement, I thought about how these characters would have reacted if they’d been severely wounded while in the military and had no choice in ending their military careers but had to leave due to the injury. I quickly realized how devastating this would be to these men and women who live to protect others, and I decided it was an amazing dynamic to explore so I created the Cold Harbor series.
Cold Terror is the first book in this series and features Gage Blackwell who found himself and many others trying to locate employment they loved after their injuries took them off active military duty. Gage wanted to help himself and the others, so he founded Blackwell Tactical and has hired a team of men and women with diverse military backgrounds. Together they provide protection services for people in danger and they also train law enforcement professionals in tactical combat skills.
Why I wrote Taken by Dark by Christy Barritt:
Taken by Dark is the fifth novel/novella in the Carolina Moon series. The series revolves around small towns in Eastern North Caroline. The series began with Home before Dark, and in that book, I introduced readers to Willa Summers, who was the sister of Ryan Shields. Willa Summers had recently been widowed after her husband and son were in a car accident. Her son survived but will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. From that moment I introduced Willa to the readers, she’s remained in the back of my mind. I knew she needed her own story one day. It took several years for me to tell her story, but I finally did in Taken by Dark. Willa must break down her walls and let others into her guarded life if she wants to survive a stalker whose sights are focused on her. There’s only one man who can help, and he broke her heart twelve years ago.
Why I wrote Once a Thief by Jan Thompson:
My private investigator, Helen Hu, made cameo appearances in Tell You Soon (Savannah Sweethearts Book 2), Love You Always (Savannah Sweethearts Book 6), and Step with Me (Seaside Chapel Book 2). Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, you know? So I decided to give her a book and her own happy ending.
Why I wrote Double Exposure by Elizabeth Goddard
I had an image in my head—the scene in a novel—of a health worker looking into a virus in an African village when it was destroyed by mercenaries, and I knew I had to write this story. Though fictional, it’s based on a truth that governments and organizations have tested biological toxins on innocent populations. With the Exposure Series, I hope to shine a light in the darkness.
Why I wrote Lethal Homecoming by Lynette Eason:
Lethal Homecoming was an experiment. For the past ten years, I’ve done nothing but traditional publishing, but the Indie buzz was growing louder. Finally, I decided it would be fun to see what could happen. So, in between the other projects I had going on, I wrote this short novella. And fell in love with the characters and Tanner Hollow. So, of course, I had to go on and write the second novella in the series—Lethal Conspiracy. I’m currently working on the third and hope to release it sometime in December 2017. I hope you enjoy Lethal Homecoming! Happy Reading!
