Interview with Javier Quintana, hero of Sheltered Hearts by Lee Tobin McClain
Romance Grows in Arcadia Valley Novella Collection
- Javier Quintana, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I used to be a major league baseball player, but now I work at my family’s restaurant while I try to figure out what to do with my life
- What do you do for fun? I play ball with local kids… give them some tips and encourage them to stay in school and work hard at whatever they do
- What do you put off doing because you dread it? In Sheltered Hearts, I make a big mistake: I put off telling the woman I’m coming to love about my celebrity history. Just once, I wanted a woman to get to know the real me instead of the rich sports hero. But my plan backfires.
- What are you afraid of? I’m afraid of letting down my family again. I’m in charge of my abuela’s 80th birthday party and it’s getting derailed by a surprise snowstorm. I need Patricia’s help to save it… but she’s not speaking to me just at the moment.
- Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? I read sports biographies
- Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? A goldendoodle named Bear just came into my life—he’s Patricia’s dog—and if things go the way I hope they do, he’ll soon be my dog, too.
- If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I’d watch Roberto Clemente help the Pirates win the world series.
