Interview with the hero from The Holiday Courtship by Winnie Griggs

1. Hank Chandler, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Well, let’s see, on the plus side I own and operate a sawmill. On the negative side, I was jilted seven years ago when Agnes, my fiancée, ran off with my best friend.

2. What do you do for fun?

I don’t have time for fun.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I’m not one for putting things off, but I don’t get very excited about doing housekeeping chores.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

Getting too close to anyone – I learned my lesson when my girl and my best friend betrayed me.

5. What do you want out of life?

To find someone whom I can truly put my trust in.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

Integrity.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I enjoy stories of adventure.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

What ever it was that made Agnes decide to break our engagement just days before the wedding.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I don’t know if you’d rightly call him a pet, but Gus, my dog, guards my sawmill when I’m not around.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

When my sister got married, she and her husband moved to Colorado. I only saw her a couple of times after that and now she’s passed away. As a result, I’ve been charged with raising a niece and nephew who don’t know me at all. If I could travel back in time I’d make a much greater effort to visit her and her family often.
