This week I’m hosting DiAnn Mills with Deadlock (print US and Canada only or digital worldwide), Vannetta Chapman with Anna’s Healing (US only) and Shanna Hatfield with Sweet Christmas Kisses 2 (digital worldwide). If you want to enter the drawings for any of these books, please leave a comment on your post with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (October 4th) evening.
Interview with the heroine from Deadlock by DiAnn Mills
1. Bethany Marie Sanchez, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I suppose that would be my profession as a special agent for Houston’s FBI. I work the violent crime division, a recent change from civil rights.
2. What do you do for fun?
Good question because I’m such a workaholic. I have an African Grey parrot named Jasper. He’s funny and smart. Lots of fun teaching him new phrases but not so fun trying to unteach inappropriate words.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
That would be a toss up between paperwork required by the FBI and laundry. Both are boring.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
That my family will never stop making excuses for my felon brother. I’m the black sheep because I refuse to give him money or make excuses for his behavior. If he doesn’t change, his life will be spent behind bars . . . or worse.
5. What do you want out of life?
I can sum that up in one word: family. I want my relationship with my family restored, and I would love to have a family of my own one day.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
My responsibilities at the FBI. My job is to help keep people safe by stopping and preventing crime. That’s who I am, my purpose in life.
7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
When I do have an opportunity to read, I choose thrillers. Sort of fun to figure out the bad guy and the motivation. I also like biographies about famous Americans.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’m such a perfectionist and rules girl. Although truth is what keeps the world sane, I wish I could relax a little so I could enjoy life.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
Oh, that’s Jasper! Parrots live a long time, so we’re bonded. My guess is Jasper will see my children and possibly my grandchildren.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I’d like to be a part of J. Edgar Hoover’s team in the early thirties. With my Hispanic heritage, no one would suspect me of trying to stop crime sprees in the gangster wars.
