Interview with the hero from Engaged to the Single Mom by Lee Tobin McClain:

1. Troy Hinton, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m a veterinarian and I run a dog rescue. Sometimes I like dogs better than people!

2. What do you do for fun?

Not much, until my former fiancé and her son moved onto my farm. Now I play catch and watch soccer games and answer questions . . . Xavier has a question every minute! And you know, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Admit how wrong I’ve been.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

That Xavier’s cancer will come back.

5. What do you want out of life?

To be able to love and honor Angelica the rest of my days, to be a role model to Xavier and any other kids we might have, and to help dogs and kids that society wants to throw away.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

God, then family, then animals who need help.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

Mostly I read vet journals, because there’s a lot to keep up with in my field.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My stubborn pride. It’s hurt both Angelica and Xavier. God and my friend Dion are working on me.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

My bulldog has the uncreative name of Bull. He’s not too pretty, especially since his accident, but he has a heart of gold.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’d go back to the day Angelica was assaulted, and instead of working late, I’d take her out and protect her from anyone who so much as looked sideways at her.
