Interview with the heroine from Healing the Widower’s Heart by Susan Anne Mason:

1. Paige, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’ve been a camp counselor at the Wyndermere House resort since I was a teenager. And even while I’ve been studying to become a grief counselor, I’ve kept working there during the summers because I love it so much.

2. What do you do for fun?

At camp, everything is fun, but I mostly enjoy swimming, canoeing, and horseback riding. I also love singing and performing musicals.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I’m terrible with budgets and financing. Talking about money makes my stomach twist, so I usually put it off as long as possible.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

After losing the love of my life, I am terrified of ever losing someone I love again.

5. What do you want out of life?

I want to help others cope with their grief. The only way I got over the death of my fiancé was with the assistance of a wonderful grief counselor. After he helped me get my life back on track, I vowed that I would dedicate my life to easing others’ pain the same way.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

My family and my faith are the most important things to me. I have wonderful parents and a terrific younger brother, whom I’m very close to.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

Well, most of my reading consists of text books since I’m in grad school, but if I have time for something else, I love a good mystery novel.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My stubborn nature. And my impulsiveness. Both traits get me into hot water at times!

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

Not at the moment. Since I’m at school, I can’t have any pets. But at Wyndermere, there are lots of animals—horses, cats, and my boss, George’s dog, Goliath!

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

Like anyone who’s lost loved one, I’d be tempted go back to the night of my fiancé’s accident and beg him not to go out in that storm. Of course, my whole life would have changed. I never would have studied to become a grief counselor and would never have met Nathan and Zach. Probably better to stay rooted in the present and trust God’s plan for my life!
