The drawings end Sunday (May 11th) evening.

SLY book cover 4x6Interview with the heroine of Somebody Like You by Beth K. Vogt:

1. Haley Ames, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I’m not a girly-girl. Growing up with three older brothers, I was all about climbing trees and playing football – keeping up with them. No tears. No tattling. Keep up.

2. What do you do for fun? I like to spend an hour at the shooting range, do some target practice.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Unpacking all the boxes in my garage … especially all the boxes filled with my husband’s clothes.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? I’m a Jordan … and an Ames by marriage. I don’t admit to being afraid of anything.

5. What do you want out of life? I don’t want to disappoint … anybody. Me. My husband. And I know that’s ridiculous because he’s not here anymore.

6. What is the most important thing to you? Family. Absolutely … family.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? Nope, not much of a reader. But I do love John Wayne movies. I own every single one of them.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My best friend would say I should eat better. I love junk food. But it’s okay – I have the metabolism of a hummingbird.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? No pets. Sam and I lived in apartment, and that didn’t work to well for a pet. But if I did have a pet, I would go to local animal shelter and look for the dog that was waiting for me.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I would go back to the last conversation I had with my husband … and I would say everything I should have said. Everything.

I hope Haley gave you just the right glimpse into her story to whet your appetite for more of Somebody Like You. She’s an intriguing heroine.

  3. Great interview, & I was privileged to read an advance copy of the book. I recommend it SO highly, really stellar believable insights and lasting wisdom. This is a must read. Though I thought Beth vogt’s last two books were great, some of my all-time favorites, she has done it again, and this one is even better than the last.

    • Delores:
Thank you for being so encouraging about Somebody Like You!

  6. What a great interview. Somebody Like You sounds like a wonderful book and I thank you so much for the opportunity to be a winner.

  7. What a heartwarming interview! The answer to the question #10 was especially touching.

  8. I’m not a girly-girl so I can relate.
