Critical Condition cover revisedBio for Richard Mabry, M.D.:

I’m a retired physician, who got into non-medical writing after the death of my first wife with my book, THE TENDER SCAR: LIFE AFTER THE DEATH OF A SPOUSE. I’m gratified that it continues to help those who have lost a loved one.

From that point, I moved into writing fiction. Thus far I’ve had six (soon to be seven) novels of medical suspense published: CODE BLUE, MEDICAL ERROR, DIAGNOSIS DEATH, and LETHAL REMEDY were the first four. The second and third books listed were named finalists for the ACFW Carol Award and Romantic Times’ Best Inspirational Novel respectively, and LETHAL REMEDY won the Selah Award.

Then came STRESS TEST (also a finalist for Romantic Times’ Best Inspirational Novel). My last book, released in October, 2013 by Thomas Nelson Publishers, is HEART FAILURE. The next will be CRITICAL CONDITION, due for release in October, 2013 (and eligible for pre-order now).

I recently completed a term as Vice-President of the American Christian Fiction Writers and am a proud member of the International Thriller Writers and the International Crime Writers Association.

When I’m not writing, I’m busy being a husband and grandfather, working on my golf game, and doing the hundred-and-one other things that retired people do. I’m busier now than I ever was while in practice–and loving it.

Blurb for Critical Condition by Richard Mabry, M.D.:

It was supposed to be a quiet dinner party with her colleagues, not the scene of a murder. But the shooting of a stranger on her front lawn is only the first in a string of events that have Dr. Shannon Frasier’s life teetering on the edge of chaos: She’s unable to make the deeper commitment her boyfriend deserves. Her sister shows up at Shannon’s home needing a place to stay, but with no promise she’ll stay clean and sober. And her father is diagnosed with cancer.

Then Shannon’s life stops teetering and plunges into the abyss. Because the person behind the guttural voice on the phone wants to know what the stranger said before he died. And he won’t stop until Shannon tells him what he wants to know–even if she doesn’t have it.

He’s coming for her. She’s not sure the police on the case can be trusted. And her only hope of escape–for herself and those she loves–is to overcome her buried past.

While Love Stirs 2Bio for Lorna Seilstad:

Lorna Seilstad brings history back to life using a generous dash of humor. After her first child was born, she quit teaching and became a professional wiper. She says she wiped noses, tears, skinned knees, and baby bottoms, but at nap time, she wrote. She is the author of the Lake Manawa Summers Series and the Gregory Sisters Series. She and her husband have three children and call Iowa home. Find out more at or connect with her on Facebook and on Twitter.
