Interview with the hero from His Unexpected Family by Patricia Johns:
1. Greg Taylor, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I’m a cop–so was my dad. He was killed in the line of duty, and I never quite got over that. After he died, I was bullied at school, so I had to take care of it myself with my fists. I always thought that if my dad had been around, he could have shown me a better way to take care of myself.
2. What do you do for fun?
I used to hang out with the guys and have some wings at our local joint, but then I met Emily, the adoptive mom of a baby I pulled out of a car wreck. She turned everything upside down!
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Talking about my feelings. I guess I’m a pretty regular guy in that respect.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
It used to be having kids. I just couldn’t see myself as a father, but now, it’s life without my girls.
5. What do you want out of life?
What everyone wants, I suppose–love, respect, stability. I wouldn’t mind a dog, too.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
Taking care of Emily and Cora. And my town. As Chief of Police, I’ve got to have some pretty broad shoulders.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
Crime novels. I like to see the bad guy taken down.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My stubborn streak. Gets me into more trouble than I care to admit.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
No, I never was home often enough to have a pet. But I like dogs.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I’d go back to the day my dad was shot and ask him to forget about my chocolate bar, and just come home. Alive.
