Bio for Mackenzie (Dakota) Dare:
Hi, my name’s Mackenzie Dare. I love life, and I love to write about it! I’ve loved writing and making stories up in my head for as long as I can remember. Every once in a while, I’ll find a page of an ancient second or third grade short story and chuckle as I read it and try to decipher the context. I love giving each character their very own life story then entwining all their different lives together. The world needs rich and poor, plain and fancy, strong and weak, dream-chasers and content daily laborers, business women and stay-at-home moms, flippant and flighty and rigid work-a-holics. If there were one “right” type of person or one perfect race, the world would be sooo dull. I love it when my characters surprise me with some deep, dark secret from their past or make a decision that totally turns the story. I love getting absorbed in the action and heart-racing scenes of my characters. What can beat the simulated feelings of excitement, fear, and danger a story can bring? The printed page can take you on so many different adventures! My Savior means everything to me, and I strive always to honor God with my writing. My life would not even come close to “working out” if it were not for Him. He gives me life, joy, purpose, peace, and an eternal hope. I thank Him for giving me the abilities I needed to write Fire Storm. I had so much fun with it. I hope everyone that decides to read it gets as much enjoyment from it as I did.
Blurb for Fire Storm by Dakota Dare:
“But we have no enemies!”… Why would a young mother, happily married and safely nestled amongst the cornfields of small town Illinois suddenly start finding murder attempts around every corner?
A fireman, Jim thrives on danger, that is until, coming in a different form, it creeps closer than he ever expected – not for him, but for the one he loves more than life itself – his wife. Who and why? How can the “protector” keep his most cherished possession from this unseen killer?
Totally innocent – untouched by evil, Jess cannot explain nor understand the incidents threatening her very existence. Holding on to her husband and clinging to her knowledge of a powerful God, she can only strive to keep trust in her soul and a smile in her heart, as the icy fingers of death lurk, coiled behind every corner. Safe in innocence, secure in love – marked for murder! God bless our home – if it doesn’t blow up!

Blurb for Murder with Mercy by Veronica Heley:
This is the fourteenth Ellie Quicke, Murder with Mercy, in which she is asked to look into some questionable deaths in the community, which might or might not be suicide.
Meanwhile, the project to turn the quirky, turreted Pryce House into a hotel has been delayed due to sabotage – and suspicion has fallen on 12 year old Mikey, part of Ellie’s household. To add to the confusion, Ellie’s pregnant, daughter is having difficulty running her estate agency while her husband is in a wheelchair. Can Ellie track down whoever it is who is killing for mercy, keep Mikey at home, and steer Diana into calmer waters?

Blurb for Hotline Girl by K. Dawn Byrd:
Nina Truman is a missionary nurse, serving in a tiny Guatemalan town not far from the Mexican border. It’s a fulfilling life, tending to the village poor, a way to serve in the country from which she was adopted. The day she leaves on furlough, is the day her life falls apart. Her bus is ambushed and she must flee from forces who inexplicably wish her dead. Trapped between a ruthless drug lord and his assassins, a corrupt police chief, and colleagues with ulterior motives, her friends may prove just as deadly as her enemies as she uncovers a plot tangled deep in the roots of her own past.
Nina’s only hope of survival lies in the hands of Shaw Wilder, a man who despises missionaries and the God they serve. His skill is in handling a landmine detection dog, not helping a woman he blames for the death of his sister. When the lethal drug kingpin El Escorpion seeks to capture Nina, and the local police are no help, Shaw has to choose: flee into the Guatemalan jungle with a naive woman who has vowed never to take a life or follow his own spiritual demons and walk away. His choice may leave them both imprisoned in a jungle from which neither will escape.
Dana Mentink is a 2009 American Christian Fiction Writers Book of the Year finalist for romantic suspense and an award winner in the Pacific Northwest Writers Literary Contest. Her novel,Betrayal in the Badlands, won a 2010 Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award.
