GA_Sweethearts_med-low_res_9780373878079Interview with the heroine from Georgia Sweethearts by Missy Tippens:

1.  Lilly, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Well, I’ve inherited a yarn shop, and I’m not crafty at all! I can barely knit.

2.  What do you do for fun?

I love photography. In fact, my goal is to someday become a photojournalist.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I’m the type person who usually jumps in when something needs doing. Probably the most difficult for me is dealing with emotions from my past. I don’t like dredging up old hurts.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Being rejected or deserted.

5.  What do you want out of life?

I’ve been really independent for a long time, so it’s kind of hard to admit this. But I want a home and family and job I love.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Security. I grew up with a father who was a dreamer and moved our family over and over, never allowing us to put down roots. I long for a home and people who love me.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I’m so busy now that there’s not much time. But when I was a child, always moving around and becoming the new kid at each school, I escaped in novels of all kinds.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I didn’t worry so much about what people think about me. I wish I was more confident in who I am.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I love dogs! I briefly had one and would love to have one again someday.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’m so happy with my bright future that I don’t think I would ever go back.

  1. If I inherited a yarn shop I’d be making things from dawn to dusk I’d say.

My family didn’t put down roots until my Father retired. I rather liked the moving around as a child.

    • Mary, I’d have a blast in a yarn shop as well! I love the colors and textures and possible projects. Although I’m not too good at knitting. I spent time re-learning at the same time my I was writing this character. 🙂 I’m still working on the same scarf!

You know, it’s interesting how people feel differently about moving. Some find it exciting to meet new people and see new places. Others find it scary or upsetting. I’m probably somewhere in the middle, a bit closer to the type who likes to stay in one place.

  2. Nice…It’s interesting how a couple of the questions have answers similar to wat I might say! 😀 Missy and I probably would get along quite well. 🙂

    • Probably so, Deevena! I think I put a bit of myself in each of my characters. 🙂

      • That is so interesting! Do any of your friends ever pick out traits and link them to you? 🙂

        • Deveena, no one has done that yet. But they may if they read this post! 🙂

          • Haha! Well, I hope they pick out the good traits! 🙂 When I finally read this book, I’ll imagine the author behind it as well as the story!

  3. Hi Lily if i had a yarn shop i, would make things and sell it in my shop. You said, you like photography, you could put your picture in your shop.I hope you do good. I would love to read your book. God bless you.

    • Thanks for reading the interview, Norma!

  4. I’m not talented in the craft department, even I wish I was. Feeling alone is something I’ve had to learn to except but I don’t have to like it. My family is the last thought of in our church family it seem s like. Been praying a lot on how to handle this. This is probably why I love to read so much because in the book world I have tons of friends and talent.

    • Jennifer, I’m sorry for your painful situation. Will say a prayer for you.

  5. I agree about dogs.
