Interview with the hero from Greenwood and Archer by Marlene Banks:

1. William Ray Matthias, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Call me Billy Ray, most folk do. I guess it’s that I am the son of a preacher.

2. What do you do for fun?

Play piano.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Talking to my father about my dreams.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

There are two things, my faith not being strong enough to get me through my next test or trial and that I was wrong; the Lord did not tell me Benny was the woman for me to marry.

5. What do you want out of life?

I don’t know yet.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

Living out my faith.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

The Bible is my all-time favorite because of what I get from it; hearing God speak to me through it. The Scriptures anchor my life in Christ.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would try to become a professional pianist instead of becoming a pharmacist.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I have a dog named Caesar. I think God brought him to me for a very specific reason. We met under unusual circumstances and he just fit right into my life after that. He’s very loyal. It might sound strange but we both seemed to know we belonged together from the start.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

If I could go back knowing what I know now I’d start over in my teens. A lot of the mindsets and decisions I made then unknowingly shaped my entire future up to now. So taking my current wisdom and going back would allow me to eradicate of a lot of the stuff I’d liked not to have happened which embarrassed my family.

  1. GREENWOOD AND ARCHER looks like a very interesting read thank you. I enjoyed the interview.

  2. He seems to be an interesting character. 😀
I’m trying to learn piano, too!

  3. The dog sounds nice.

  5. Hi Marlene,
Thank you for the chance to win “Greenwood And Archer” sounds like a great book, i can’t wait to find out how William Ray Matthias or Billy Ray as he wants to be called comes out with his faith and or becomes a professional pianist or a pharmacist.
Thank you again and God bless you.
