Interview with the hero from Fresh-Start Ranch by LeAnn Harris:

1. Ethan McClure, tell me the most interesting thing about you:

I’m a rancher in New Mexico, just outside Albuquerque.  I’m the elder with a but with a younger brother and sister.  I am the last remaining single McClure.  I’m also the head of our local horse rescue group.

2.  What do you do for fun?  Well, lately I’ve been practicing my calf roping.  I plan to compete in an old timers rodeo, although 35 isn’t that old.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?  I hate mending fences, but if it isn’t done, I’ll be losing stock.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?  That my secret would be revealed, that I managed to gamble myself in a huge debt when I was a teen.

5.  What do you want out of life?  I want a family like my parents have.  Lately both my brother and sister have married and are happy.  I was once engaged, but that was a long time ago and it ended badly.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?  Family.  My family is the most important thing in my life.  And when I met Dr. Tessa, I found what I thought was the right woman for me, but when she learned some are hard truths, she pulled away.  My tangle with gambling also put her off me.

7.  Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? Zane Grey.  Love the westerns and identify with the men and women he wrote about.  I also love Sherlock Holmes.  Nothing like a good mystery.  And C.S. Lewis.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I never would’ve tried to make easy money betting on events and fell into gambling.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

My horse, Ranger.  He was one of my first rescue horses.  He is a handful, but one beautiful animal.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’d loved to be here in New Mexico a 100 years ago.  This is a beautiful, rugged land that speaks to my soul.  I love this place and would’ve loved to help settle this land.
