This week I’m hosting Kellie Coates Gilbert with Mother of Pearl (giveaway for only U.S. residents), Margaret Daley with A Mom’s New Start, Kathy Harris with The Road to Mercy, and Ronie Kendig with Trinity. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (September 9th) evening.
Interview with the hero from Trinity by Ronie Kendig:
1. Heath, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
The most interesting thing about me is my dog. Seriously. She’s the only thing that sets me apart from thousands of other Army grunts or Special Forces soldiers—she’s a special operations military war dog. There is no other like her.
2. What do you do for fun?
I love hiking with my dog, Trinity. Well, really, I like going anywhere with her. She reminds me that life is good and exemplifies the truth that God has always got my back.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Answers interview questions like this. Give me a weapon and Trinity, and I can go confidently into that dark night, but shed some light on myself, and well. . .things get a little wiggy for me.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
Feeling useless.
5. What do you want out of life?
To serve, to be there for others, to fight for those who can’t find for themselves.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
God and my dog. Well, Darci’s in there somewhere, but don’t ask me to put one in front of the other. It’s a no-win scenario.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I read mostly nonfiction books along the lines of military history and combat-related things, like books on snipers, action, memoirs, etc.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I guess if God wanted me a different way, he would’ve made me that way. I am who I am, and I’ve learned—and am still learning—to accept myself. Maybe that’s one thing I’d like changed—to be more accepting of things and people.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
No, I don’t have a pet, and with Trinity around, having a pet isn’t a good idea. She’s still got too much drive and aggression training in her.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
Back to the day I didn’t listen to Trinity and ended up sidelining our careers. But. . .then again, if I went back and changed that, I wouldn’t have met Darci. Tough call—my four-legged girl, or my two-legged girl. I’ll get back to you on that.
Trinity is a very special dog indeed. I would love to read this.

Your book sounds so great
Hi Ronnie and Margaret! I’ve always enjoyed watching the working dog, military or police dogs. I have friends who train and breed shepards for search and rescue. Trinity sounds great!

P.S. the font on your blog is really tiny and was difficult for me to read. Maybe if the color of the font were a little darker that would make it easier too.
Sigh, it’s hard for me to even say that LOL. I’m only 41 and I have to have my kids read the small print on medicine bottles *blush*.
Have got to get Trinity. I have kived around and studied these dogs and it sounds so exciting
I’ve been looking forward to the release of Trinity and can’t wait to read it!

This is a great character interview – what was neat was the answer to the last question because it intrigued me. I want to find out what happens to the two legged and four legged critters. 🙂
