This week I’m hosting Valerie Hansen with Threat of Darkness, Ann Lee Miller with Kicking Eternity (see note under the heroine interview), Beth Vogt with Wish You Were Here, and Jennifer Slattery with an opportunity to help charity. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (June 10th) evening.
Interview with the hero from Wish You Were Here by Beth K. Vogt:
1. Daniel Rayner, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I’ll start with the physical characteristic you’ll notice about me when we first meet face to face: I have one blue eye and one green eye. I could also talk about how “The Wanderer” could be my theme song. Or how I’ve filled enough passports for three people because I love to travel so much – places like Africa, Australia, Italy, and all over the U.S.
2. What do you do for fun? I’m the guy in the “Life is Good” T-shirt who likes to hike and camp in the summertime and snowshoe and camp in the wintertime.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Family get-togethers – yeah, those don’t rank high on my “want to” list.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? Most of my ex-girlfriends would say I’m afraid of commitment. I would say I am afraid of making a commitment to the wrong woman. But then again, the right woman is already taken.
5. What do you want out of life? I want to live life on my own terms – in an honorable way.
6. What is the most important thing to you? My independence. I’ve earned my own way since I left home for college – haven’t relied on my father or anyone else to help me accomplish my goals.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? Books? Not so much. Unless I’m browsing a copy of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I let circumstances – disappointments – get in the way of my relationship with God. I wish I could have walked through those times and been stronger in my faith rather than letting those experiences push me away from God.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? No pets. I travel too much to have a pet. I would wreck my savings account having to pay kenneling fees or for a cat-sitter or dog-walker.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I would go back to five days before my brother’s wedding. And I would be careful not to kiss my brother’s fiancée. Then again … maybe not.
