Interview with the hero from The Marshal’s Promise by Rhonda Gibson:
1. Seth Billings, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I joined the Sheriff’s department at a very young age. My father was a lawman and I wanted to follow in his footsteps so shortly after my father died, I asked the local Sheriff to make me a deputy… I was twelve and he did.
2. What do you do for fun? I go fishing. My mind is able to relax if all it has to focus on is catching fish.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Cleaning the coffee pot. A dirty coffee pot makes the coffee taste better and once it’s clean it just doesn’t have the same flavor. I always dread those first few cups of coffee.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? Losing someone I love to an outlaw.
5. What do you want out of life? A family but because of my occupation I just don’t know that I’ll ever have that… of course, Rebecca might just change my mind.
6. What is the most important thing to you? Keeping others safe. I believe God wants this from me, too.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? Sure I read. Mainly the Bible. The Bible offers me comfort and peace where nothing else can.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My ears, kids teased me as a child for having big ears. I still think they are a bit large for my head.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? No, I’ve thought about getting a dog but with my line of business, that’s just not sensible.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I’d go back to the week before my father was murdered and ask him how he handled knowing that others could die because of him being a lawman.
I’m trying to think about what being a Mountain Man would involve.

I’m afraid that either Margaret or myself mixed up the interviews. Morgan Frost is the hero from my contemporary novella, Stuck on You, from the novel A Connecticut Christmas.
Seth Billings is the hero of The Marshal’s Promise and as you can guess from the title, he’s a lawman.
Sorry for the mix up.
A mountain man was pretty much a loner… until he met the right woman, of course. Being a mountain man meant traping, fishing, hunting and surviving long winters and hostile neighbors 🙂 I love mountain men and plan on having a book with one in the future .
