This week I’m hosting Jane Perrine with The Welcome Committee of Butternut Creek, Leann Harris with Second Chance Ranch (1st book in series) and Laura Hilton with Promised to Another. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (April 1st) evening.
Interview with the hero from Promised to Another by Laura Hilton:
1. Joshua Esh, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I’m an Amishman bitten by the travel bug. I’ve been to Alaska, Mexico, and other Amish communities in the United States. I traveled from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Seymour, Missouri for this story—Promised to Another
2. What do you do for fun? I like seeing new places. I like tearing Englischer’s machines apart and seeing the inside of them and learning how they work. I like the Maple Sugar process and I liked learning bee-keeping.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Telling the truth.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? I’m afraid that the truth will set me free in the wrong ways…that I’d cause shame to my family if the worse possible scenario happened.
5. What do you want out of life? Adventure.
6. What is the most important thing to you? God. My community. My family.
7. Do you read books? Sometimes If so, what is your favorite type of book? When I read, I think I’d like to read an adventure book, maybe about smoke jumpers or firemen. Something with lots of men and adrenalin.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would have been more careful to consider what my actions might say about me and why.
9. Do you have a pet? No. If so, what is it and why that pet? I’m Amish. We have farm dogs, cats, horses, animals…but I didn’t really make a pet out of any of them. Too many other fascinating things to do.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I see no need to travel back in time.
I love the idea of the hero traveling around visiting other Amish communities.

Hmmm, I see a thirst for knowledge in this young man that the Amish might frown upon, depending on how strict his order is. I would love to read this book and find out! Thank you for the opportunity. I love Amish books!!
Very interesting character. He loves his family and his faith but also adventure and freedom. Makes me wonder how he is able to embrace all of those. Sounds like a great book.
I would love to be entered to win a copy of Promised to Another. I love Amish stories and the photo at the bottom of the book could be almost any farm in Northeast Indiana where I live.
🙂 Smiles & Blessings,
Cindy W.
On Apr. 3, hubby and I will be married for 39 yrs! When my fb friends tell me I don’t look old enough to have been married for that long I just tell them I was only 3 yrs old when we got married. 🙂 This would make a really nice anniversary present! Hubs already got me some perfume! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
This sounds so interesting. Great interview and love how he is traveling around visiting the other Amish communities. Thanks for the giveaway!
