Hero Interview from Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis:

1.  Roc Girouard, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

If I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Some days I don’t even believe it myself. I’m just a guy trying to do the right thing. Sounds easy, huh? Some days it is, some days not so much.

2.  What do you do for fun?

What’s that? Fun? Who has time? Actually, I’ve learned that the Amish have fun even doing chores. But not me. I used to go to Mardi Gras, kick up my heels, but not now. Not when life and death hang in the balance.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I put off accepting the truth of what I do or should do. I didn’t want to believe that there were vampires. I still don’t. And I would prefer if it weren’t true.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Living. Dying would be simpler, easier, less painful.

5.  What do you want out of life?

I want answers to all my questions. I want justice for those who have been victims. And I want revenge.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Everything I’ve lost, most especially my wife.

7.  Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I read to understand. I’ve read those crazy vampire books that are full of propaganda and untruths. But I don’t have much time for reading these days.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

That I didn’t know the truth, that I could live oblivious of the threat that is out there, that innocents are dying every day.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I don’t stay in one place long enough to have a pet. But a pet might be nice for some protection…or at least a warning system of what goes bump…or bite in the night.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

Back to a time when I still had Emma. When she was still safe. When I still had hope.

  5. HOLY COW, Leanna, this was a POWERFUL interview!! Sharp, brief and biting (if the pun fits …), and you sucked me in immediately (I swear on a stack of Bibles that I wrote that sentence before I even realized the pun, so forgive me, but it’s true). You are such a unique writer, girl, that every one of your books is a true literary experience one never forgets.

Can’t wait to dive in! (Please notice I avoided the expression “to take a bite.” 🙂

    Hugs,
    Julie

  6. I enjoy reading Amish stories and this one has a totally different twist to it that has me fascinated. I would love to read this book.

    Blessings,
    Jo
