Hero Interview from Beacon of Love by Darlene Franklin:
Interview with the hero:
1. Sam, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I grew up on the island of Capernaum then went away for a few years, when I went to medical school and served in the Army. So I’m a bit of an outsider whether I’m on the island or on the mainland.
2. What do you do for fun?
I like to play a good game of rounders … as long as I don’t have to go near the sea to catch the ball. I had a lot of fun shucking oysters for a contest. Maybe next year I’ll win.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I pretty much jump head first into things. I’ve seen a lot of death in my short career as a doctor, but I’ve seen life too.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
I’m afraid of the ocean, although I try to hide it. I’d rather do anything than have to go out to sea in a boat.
5. What do you want out of life?
For awhile, I thought I wanted to be a successful doctor in town. But after I fought in the recent war with Britain, I realized I wanted to make a difference. Don’t tell God doesn’t have a sense of humor. He sent me back to my home town, Capernaum—an island. You can only get there by boat.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
I want to make a difference to the people of Capernaum. Now that God has given me a wife, I look forward to a long and happy marriage with lots of little ones running around. Judith is an amazing helpmeet. She’s great at helping me with my work.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I read mostly medical books. And my Bible, of course. I don’t have time to read much of anything else.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I don’t know if it’s something I would change about me, or about the way people react to me. Some people run the other way when they learn I’m a doctor or put off seeing me for help until it’s too late.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I don’t have a pet. Between my medical studies and the war, I haven’t had an established home. Now I might get myself a dog.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would go back to the day my father died in the waters off of Rocky Point. Maybe I could save him this time.

Anthologies are great for that, aren't they? Multiple stories to enjoy in one volume.
I'd love to be entered for Darlene's book. I have to agree with everyone on the lovely cover!
