This week I’m hosting Cara Putman with Stars in the Night and Kit Wilkinson with Sabotage. If you want to enter the drawing, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (July 4th) evening.

Interview with the heroine from Sabotage by Kit Wilkinson:

1.Emilie Ann Gill, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I ride horses for a living. I’m a show jumper and this year I’m headed to the Olympic trials in hopes to become a part of the U.S. equestrian team. Well, that is if the police can figure out who is sabotaging my stables…

2. What do you do for fun?

Riding horses is fun. At least, to me it is. And, honestly, I train most of the time and when I’m not training, I’m running my stables. I guess I don’t have a lot of free time.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Dealing with my family. I love them but they have too much advice for me. It’s easier to avoid them. Especially my father. No one is good enough for him.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

Losing. Losing in the riding ring, but also losing the things and the people that I love.

5. What do you want out of life?

If you’d asked me that a few weeks ago, I would have said I want to be an Olympic champion. And that’s all… But, since my groom was killed and I was accused of murder then practically forced into the protection of my new groom, well, things have changed. I’m still trying to figure them out but I know I want more than just to win. I want peace in my life and in my heart. Derrick, the new groom, says I can find it if I just ask God for it. But I don’t know…

6. What is the most important thing to you?

It used to be winning and proving to my father that I was good enough, but now I’m not so sure. I still want to win but I think maybe there are other things in life that are important.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I don’t have a lot of time to read but when I do I look at equestrian magazines or I read books by Dick Francis.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I should stop chewing on my nails. It’s a terrible habit.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I have horses, of course. Right now I am training on four jumpers—Bugs, Chelsea, Duchess, and Marco. Bugs is a dapple gray thoroughbred stallion. He’s probably my favorite. Chelsea is a new horse for me, an Irish warm blood. She is young, elegant and a very talented athlete.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I would go back to the night my mother was killed in an automobile accident. I’d stop her from getting in her car and leaving home. And while I was back in that time, I’d ask my groom what he was doing that was so bad someone wanted him dead. Maybe if I could talk to him like I should have before, he would still be alive today.

  12. LOve the sounds of this book – I share the character's love for Dick Francis and I also love riding. In my younger years, I owned a quarter horse and spent many happy hours roaming around the countryside with him. Now, I would be content to sit in my chair and read about horses – please enter me!
