My summer reading

» Posted on Aug 22, 2009 in Blog | 8 comments

Just popping in to say hi to everyone. I’ve been busy trying to write a book before I go to the ACFW conference in Denver in September. This book will be out next July, the second one in my home schooling series. It’s called Heart of a Cowboy.

Also wanted to thank my wonderful husband, Mike, for thirty-nine years of marriage. Today is our anniversary.

I have managed to read a book for pleasure–which lately has been hard for me to do with my writing. I read my favorite author–James Rollins. His new book out this summer is The Doomsday Key, and I really enjoyed it. Talk about cliffhangers for endings to scenes and chapters. He does a great job. It’s a suspense/adventure book which is my favorite to read. He transports me to another world–one I personally wouldn’t want to be involved in but love to read. Running for your life–nearly dying several times–is fun to read but I doubt to experience.

From the book cover of The Doomsday Key:
Sigma Force confronts humankind’s greatest threat in an adventure that races from the Roman Coliseum to the icy peaks of Norway, from the ruins of medieval abbeys to the lost tombs of the Celtic kings. The ultimate nightmare if locked with a talisman buried by a dead saint–an ancient artifact known as the Doomsday Key.

So now that you know what I’ve been reading. What books are you reading this summer?

  1. Happy Anniversary. I hope you and your hubby have a wonderful time celebrating your many years of togetherness.

  2. Happy anniversary, Margaret!

  3. A very happy anniversary to you and your husband!!!

This summer has been crazy! I haven't been able to read much unfortunately : ( What I have read is:
    The Red Tent
    The Poisonwood Bible
    His Forever Love
    Lone Star Courtship
    Sarah's Key
and a couple others. This is terrible for me! Lol. Usually I read at least double that. Anyway, I'd recommend all of them! They were fantastic!

  4. Happy belated anniversary!
I wish you and your husband
    many more happy anniversaries.

  5. Thanks, Keli, Myra Hannah and Cindi. We had a wonderful, quiet anniversary.

  6. Happy Anniversary, Margaret. Many more happy Years. We celebrated our 39th anniversary, May 24th. I have read many wonderful novels this summer. The Forgotten Garden, The Devlin Diary, People of the Book. All memorable.

  7. Happy Anniversary!! 39 years is something to be proud of! I'm happy for you.

  8. Hope you have a wonderful celebration. Happy Anniversary, Margaret.
