The American Christian Fiction Writers annual conference will be again this year in Dallas September 20-23. If you are at all interested in writing for the Christian market, this is a wonderful, must-do opportunity to network and attend some great sessions on writing for that market. I highly recommend it for this reason and the feeling (and friends) you will come away with.
The camaraderie and fellowship you get from this conference is so uplifting. Everyone is approachable from big name writers to the editors and agents. Although the conference numbers are growing, it still feels intimate and small. This conference is truly different from a lot of the ones I’ve attended from the worship services to the meals where you can sit with an agent or editor you want to pitch to.
One of my fondest memories was when I was at a worship service with Cheryl Wyatt and we were both crying at the beauty of the moment. During the conference there have been other moments that I’ve felt the Lord’s presence, but that one has stuck in my mind the most.
So pack your bags and head to Texas in September. Get ready to enjoy yourself, meet new and old friends, learn about the Christian market, buy way too many books at the bookstore, stay up late discussing writing with people who understand, and be moved by the Lord. I hope to see you in Dallas in a few months.
I can’t wait! I look forward to each conference on the last day of the last one. It’s an amazing experience. Not only in the workshops, the networking opportunities, the keynote, but the fellowship never fails to blow me away. I love how the Holy Spirit shows up every single time we worship. And the prayer room—wooya, what an experience. I’m counting down the days! 😀
I’m so anxious to see you! Hope you got a hug ready for me. LOL.
I have to agree with you and Robin about the worship services. That’s why I bring water proof mascara and plenty of Kleenixes. This year I’ll already have the tissues open when I go into worship. 😀
