Revenge can be sweet!

Have you ever heard the saying what comes around comes around? Well, I believe my son is finding that out now that he is a father. Last weekend he and his two stepdaughters were to clean each of their bedrooms. While my son and one of the girls were slaving away, putting their rooms in order, the youngest was cheerfully watching TV in her room. She was finished–that is until my son checked under the bed and inside the closet. Everything was stuffed there!

When I heard this story, I had a good laugh. I don’t know how many times through his childhood we fought over his dirty room. I should have taken a picture of his room–the one I had to glut when he moved out. I could have threaten to show the girls. I still have a hard time believing my son is concerned about a clean house–this from the guy who had at least an inch of clothes covering the floor. You couldn’t even tell what color the carpet was for all the “stuff” that littered the floor. Revenge is sweet! Have you ever had something like this happen to you?

  1. You give me hope for my daughter! If her room is actually clean I know that opening the closet door will result in an avalanche of Sweet Street houses and Polly Pockets!

  2. Cheryl, I’m seeing it a lot now that my son is raising children. It actually makes me realize my parenting didn’t fall on deaf ears.

  3. My kid’s rooms are always a disaster. I don’t remember being that messy, probably because I didn’t have as much stuff as they do.
