There is a good chance it will snow here tomorrow night or Thursday morning and I’m not ready for it. We had very little autumn. In Oklahoma we often go from summer to winter and psychologically I’m unprepared. I don’t like the shorter days. I don’t like cold temperatures. What do you do to make it through winter without going stircrazy because you are cooped up inside?
I love the outdoors so long as I’m not freezing. Going for long walks is a great way to get in touch with the Lord. Of course, I can do that anywhere, but God made a beautiful planet. Earth is so full of color, sounds, and textures. It speaks to our five senses. When I saw the sunrise Sunday, I marveled at God’s work. It was breathtaking.
I will admit when it snows it is beautiful, too. Nothing beats how quiet it is and even light at night. What I don’t like is having to get out and drive in it because life has to go on. I have to go to work, the store.
Oh, well, I’ve learned you have to take the bad with the good. I’ll just have to make a fire in the fireplace and curl up with a good book on those cold nights. Now that I think about it, winter ain’t so bad!
