I am exhausted. I took my son’s fiancee’s two little girls to the zoo and watched them the whole day (there’s a reason young people have the children–you need a lot of energy to keep up with them). And my feet hurt!!! As well as other body parts. I think I’ve discovered muscles I didn’t know I had and they hurt. It was a beautiful day–just a little on the hot side. I never thought of the zoo being hilly until I had to pull a wagon with two little girls in it up an incline–actually a lot of inclines. It is sorta like when it’s winter and it snows. You don’t realize how hilly the area around where you live is until you have to drive somewhere after it’s snowed and you get trapped halfway up a hill and start sliding back down it.
I had a great time even if I’m tired. It’s a good tired. They are adorable and it’s so nice seeing the zoo through two little girls’ eyes. Waving and talking to the animals. Riding everything there is to ride. Desperately wanting a butterfly to land on them in the Butterfly Exhibit. Wanting to ride the big stuffed mammoth and not understanding when I told them it was too tall–there was no way up to the top of it.
Well, I’d better go now. I have to go soak my feet. My next blog will be about filling the well as a writer. Check back in a couple of day.
