New Year resolution

I have stated before that I don’t do New Year resolutions because I don’t find they work well–at least for me. I like to try and continually make changes that are needed in my life. Which brings me to an ugly four letter word (for the weak of heart stop reading right now) DIET. I’m wrestling with trying to lose weight or at least maintain my current weight but as you get older that gets harder and harder to do. Does anyone have a good diet or suggestion? I know eating the right foods and exercise is the best way, but knowing and doing are two different things. In fact, I just finished a hot caramel double dip sundae. I doubt that is on any diet out there. I still maintain it would be wonderful if you could wave a magic wand and the fat melts off you.

So here is what I am proposing for myself (unless someone can think of something better that actually works): I will watch what I eat and drink as well as how much (and that means no stops at Braums for those sundaes). I will try to exercise which in winter isn’t always easy and try really hard to keep the size of the portion down.

Oh, and by the way this is NOT a New Year resolution.

  1. Sounds like me, Margaret. I’ve been battling my weight since last year, when I ballooned after I tore the ACL in my knee and had surgery.

I’ve been having good success with the Blood Type diet, MUCH to my surprise. I’ve also been eating vegetables (canned, frozen or fresh) with every meal, drinking more water, and drinking more tea. Don’t know if that will work for you, but it seems to help me.
