Talent is important but equally or more important is perseverance with some luck thrown in. I think this is true in writing but also life itself. I have seen some very talented writers who get one rejection and stop writing or at least stop submitting their books. You will not become a selling writer if you don’t send out your work and risk getting a rejection. You will not become a selling writer if you don’t write. Period. Writing takes discipline and a thick skin. People won’t see what you’ve written the same way as you do. When we read a book or see a movie, our opinion if it is good is a subjective one. We need to remember what one person doesn’t like another will. So keep writing or doing whatever you love to do.

  1. Hi Margaret! I love your blog! Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I loved English. Math was my least favorite subject. Squirl
