This week I’m hosting Patty Smith Hall with Hearts in Flight , Sandra Robbins with Dangerous Reunion, and Winnie Griggs with Second Chance Family. If you want to enter the drawings, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (July 31st) evening.
Interview with the heroine from Winnie Griggs’s Second Chance Family:
1.Cora Beth Collins, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I suppose you could say it’s the fact that I run a boarding house.
2. What do you do for fun?
I really enjoy teaching my girls how to bake
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I REALLY dislike doing the laundry. I’d put it off if I could, but it’s a chore that must be done every week, especially when you run a boardinghouse and have as large a family as I do.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
Ending up alone.
5. What do you want out of life?
I used to think I had everything I needed – a large family, fulfilling work, lots of friends. But lately I’ve been thinking that my family – my life – would be so much better if there was a good man in it.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
No question about it, it’s family.
7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I’m afraid my days are quite full, so I don’t have much time for reading. But when I do manage to find a little time, I enjoy poetry. The beauty of the words touches something deep inside of me.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’m afraid I’m not a very interesting person, sort of a wallflower to be honest. I’d love to be more interesting, like my sister Josie or my friend Sadie.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I didn’t used to. But these two children I’ve taken in, they have a dog – Scout they call him. He’s been a protector and friend to them through a lot of hard times and I’m so grateful he was there for them.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
Back to the time when I was a little girl so I could visit with my parents one more time. But I would only want to go back for a short time. I have my own children now, 3 wonderful little girls, and I wouldn’t want to leave them for long.
