Interview with the heroine from Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island by Gay N. Lewis

1. Sarah, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

“The most interesting thing about me? Hmm. Well, a lot of women or children are called angels, but I’m a real one. While I’m on earth, I work as a matchmaker. I’m to bring romance to lonely people. Sometimes I work directly with the female and other times, the male. In my last assignment, I was sent to Carolyn Baker who lives in Sugar Land, Texas. Sometimes I nudged her to action in my invisible form, but I also appeared as a female. Carolyn’s parents had died, and she was a lonely woman. She decided to take a cruise vacation. Can you believe it? I was thrilled I didn’t get seasick and throw up on the humans. Oh! And I even had a fight with a wicked spirit while we were there. Talen was fresh out of Fallen Angel School and sent to thwart my mission.”

2. What do you do for fun?

“That’s a good question, ‘what do I do for fun?’ I love sitting on my cloud and viewing the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. And the stars at night? Oh my. You should see them from my vantage point. Sometimes I join the other angels for a race around the golden streets. I’m pretty fast on my wings. When I helped Carolyn on the cruise, she took me to a massage salon. That was fun. Of course the therapist couldn’t remove the ridges in my back where I concealed my wings. I loved the food on that ship. I’m a hearty eater, so that was fun too.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

“Travel. Oh merciful heavens! I’m always lost. When I need to find a geographical location on earth, I end up in wrong places. I possess absolutely no sense of direction. I dread moving about, so I procrastinate. Once I was supposed to go to Houston and landed in Dallas by mistake. I had fewer places to get lost on the boat, so that helped. Carolyn had two men interested in her on the ship. Nick Bowden and Ash Sullivan. Only one would turn out to be the real deal. Would you believe one of them protected me, an angel? Of course the dude thought I was a fragile female earthling. Both Carolyn’s suitors were quite handsome. My worst nightmare is that I would disappoint the Holy One while I worked with Carolyn. I messed up a few times, but nothing too serious.”

4. What do you want out of life?

“I want more than anything to successfully finish my missions. That’s my lofty goal, but I secretly want to get out of these white muslin robes and wear blingy ones with stilettos. I can’t walk in those adorable shoes, but I intend to learn. Carolyn works in a department store, and I bought a pair of red heels. I fell off her roof when I walked in them. Carolyn thought the squirrels caused the noise.”

5. What is the most important thing to you?

“The most important thing to me is to give couples a happy ever after.”

6. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

“I love to read romance. Can you believe? Some of you earthly writers give me the best stories. You also give me ideas to help my couples find each other.”

7. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

“I’d love to be taller. And dare I say it? I want to walk in high heels. I’d also like my dyslexia removed.”

8. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

“I travel too much for pets.”

9. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

“My choice for a past epoch in human history would be the Garden of Eden. I’ve been told by my Superiors that I can’t keep humans from misusing free will, but I know I would have tried to do that with Eve.”
