Interview with the heroine from A Stranger’s Secret by Laurie Alice Eakes:

1.  Morwenna Trelawny Penvenan, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I outsmarted a gang of smugglers.

2.  What do you do for fun?

I like to play fetch on the beach with my dogs—deer hounds. Or play with my son.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Anything to do with my family. Relations are improving, but we have a long way to go.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Failing. I can say a great deal more about that, and I do not wish to fail at reaching my goal because it is my son’s future.

5.  What do you want out of life?

I want security. Despite my grandparents’ wealth, I have never known the true security of a loving family and stable home life.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Before I met David, I would have said my son is the most important thing to me. Now it is both of them.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I wasn’t much of a student. I preferred to flirt with my young male teachers, to learning, but now I am trying to make up for that and have started with Mr. Shakespeare’s plays.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would change my past. I wish I could have come to my husband innocent and pure.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I have two deer hounds I inherited from my husband. They are smart and affectionate and obedient.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I would return to my youth—not that I’m old now at twenty-two—and change my behavior, my disobedience to God and my grandparents.
