Interview with the heroine from Plain Peril by Alison Stone:

1. Hannah, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I grew up Amish, but left before I was baptized. My English neighbors are always fascinated by that. They can’t imagine anyone could live without a television or a car.

2. What do you do for fun?

Now that I’m caring for my deceased sister’s daughters in the Amish community of Apple Creek, I don’t have a lot of time for fun. But I do enjoy reading with them.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

For the longest time, I put off coming home to Apple Creek. I didn’t want to face all the people I disappointed because I left the Amish faith. And sadly, I wasn’t welcomed.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

I’m most afraid I’ll lose more people I love in my life. It took losing my sister for me to come back to Apple Creek and be a part of my young nieces’ lives. Now will I lose them? Or find a way to raise them?

5. What do you want out of life?

I want to find my place in this world. Even though I’ve returned and now wear Amish clothing, I’m not convinced I can live as an Amish person. Yet, I need to find a way to reconcile this with raising my nieces. The Amish way of life is the only thing they’ve even known.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

My two sweet nieces. They’ve lost so much in their young lives. I’m determined to make sure they’re cared for now that their mother is gone.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I enjoy reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books with my nieces.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I had more courage. I should been honest with my parents before I jumped the fence and left Apple Creek the first time.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

Living on a farm, pets are a must. My nieces fell in love with a stray kitten and named her Pumpkin.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

If I could travel back in time, I’d warn my sister she was in danger. I am blessed to have my nieces in my life, but I wish they also had their mother and father.

    • Mary, thanks for stopping by. A good book is great company. However, I fear I couldn’t live without a car. I live in the suburbs and not in walking distance of stores or public transportation. I think it would be awesome to live closer to things to make not having a car possible.

  7. Hi! I love reading Amish books. You’re a new author to me and I would love to have a chance to win your book. I would have looked in the library but was told they don’t carry Love Inspired books. Thank you for the opportunity to win. Have a blessed weekend
