Interview with the hero from Conveniently Wed by Angel Moore:
1. Tucker Barlow, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I’ve been a ranch hand since my momma passed. A fellow can learn a lot working on another man’s land. But I’ve just moved to Pine Haven to marry my boss’s widowed daughter and help her raise her twin sons. So now, I’m a cotton farmer and a father. The most interesting thing about that to me, is that I’m a husband with a wife who married me because her pa told her it was probably the only way she could keep her farm.
2. What do you do for fun? I like to make things. Carving wood is a sort of hobby. I can make useful things, and it clears my head. There’s something about carving away the layers of wood and revealing something beautiful. That’s what I’m trying to do with my new family – help them through their grief, so we can become a real family. That’s something that’s hard to see or imagine at the moment.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? I’m not wanting to tell my Daisy all the things I’ve planned for us. She doesn’t cotton to being left out of the decisions. It makes it hard on a man trying to surprise a woman.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? Not so much afraid as concerned. I’d sure hate for Daisy to discover I love her if she can’t find it in her heart to love me back.
5. What do you want out of life? Same as the next man, I think. A family, a safe place to sleep at night, and land.
6. What is the most important thing to you? God for sure, then my family.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? I read the Bible. I find great comfort in the words of God. Some days I think He wrote parts of it just for me.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I could probably be a bit more patient.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? No pets, really. My horse, Mack, might not take too kindly to being called a pet.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I don’t think I’d like to go back in time. It’s been a long wait to be married to Daisy. For years I’d given up the dream. I’d rather go forward in time to our future together, but I’m not in a rush. I’m enjoying every day as it comes.
