From Friend to…Fiancé?

Stalwart and steady, Darcy O’Malley has been by Luke Jordan’s side since childhood. She has seen him through trials and tragedies, romances and breakups. They’ve been everything to each other—except boyfriend and girlfriend. Why ruin a good thing? What Luke can’t explain, however, is why suddenly Darcy’s presence is making his heart beat so hard. Dare he risk their perfect friendship in the hopes of finding his perfect wife?

Blurb for Veiled at Midnight, Book 3 of the series Twilight of the British Raj, by Christine Lindsay:

As the British rule of India ends, millions take to the road. Families are separated and rioting breaks out like wildfire. Caught in this turbulence are Captain Cam Fraser and his sister Miriam.

As Cam takes up his prestigious post as Aide de camp to Lord Louis Mountbatten the last viceroy of India, Cam despairs he will never find Dassah, the beautiful Indian woman he loves, and who British society will never allow him to marry.

Miriam rails against the separation of the land of her birth, but is Lieutenant Colonel Jack Sunderland her soul mate or a distraction from what really impassions her heart?

And Dassah, an orphan raised in the mission, who for a short while believed Cam loved her and now believes he only used her, must run and separate herself from the man who holds her heart.

Set against the turbulent 1947 Partition of India, three grown children of Colonial India must find their true home, where they will never again be separated from love.

  30. I am very interested jn historical fiction, especially World War 2. World War 2 had such an impact on my parents’ lives and, even though I was born 2 years after it ended, it had a impact on my life as well.
