A-November-Bride-Beth-VogtInterview with the heroine from A November Bride by Beth Vogt:

1. Sadie, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I cook – for other people. Families, I mean. I’m a personal chef and I’m all about planning and preparing a week’s worth of delicious meals.

2. What do you do for fun? Read cookbooks. I have an extensive collection – and I don’t loan them out. Sorry.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? I’m beginning to sound terribly one-dimensional. I collect recipes. Once a year, I make myself clean out my “virtual” recipe box – all the online recipes that I’ve gathered. There’s no way I’m going to try all of them, so I have to toss them. It’s a painful process.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? Don’t laugh, okay? I avoid the playground in the park across the street from my house. If I’d known the city was going to put one in, I probably wouldn’t have bought my house. Playgrounds . . . well, they’re just not my favorite place.

5. What do you want out of life? Oh, so many things. I want the families I cook for to be pleased with the meals I prepare. That’s my commitment to them. And I want to be safe, you know? I mean, doesn’t everyone want to find a place in their life where they’re known and loved – and safe?

6. What is the most important thing to you? Loyalty. I’m a reliable person and it’s important to me to know that someone I care about is trustworthy too.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? I’ve already answered this: cookbooks. But I also like cozy mysteries. I try to figure them out before I get to the end.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My eyesight. I’ve had eye problems since I was born.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? No pets – but I love otters! I read online about a zoo in Japan where you can hold hands with an otter. Wouldn’t that be fun?

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? Such a challenging question. I guess . . . I’d like to go back to my elementary school years and figure out how to be a little braver. To like who I was back then . . . and not worry so much what the other kids thought.

  3. I like Sadie’s answer about going back to school to change some things about herself. I have pondered that before, wishing I had done things different durning my elementary years and how it would of effected my life.

  6. I’m kind of thinking that Sadie was based on me – except the cooking part. I hate cooking, but probably because I don’t know how and if a recipe has more than five ingredients I’m bound to lose track and mess it all up!

  10. Have so enjoyed my retirement, being able to keep reading so many books. Love winning them too, it helps save on the pocket book living on SS as I am sure so many know about. So many authors to get to know, so many of their books. I read about 5-8 a month. Love it, was wondering if we would have books to read in heaven.

  11. I’ve read the first couple books in this series and I’m really looking forward to reading the rest! Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
