1. What made you start writing?

I felt compelled by God to give women hope through Jesus Christ.

2. How long have you been writing? When did you sell your first book?

I started writing Bible studies for the church I was serving in 1995 but didn’t have my first book published until 2005.

3. How do you handle rejections?

I am pretty sensitive by nature so I’ve really had to grow in this area. Now I ask myself the question, where is God in this? Does He have another plan? Then I praise Him that HIS plans are good!

4. Why do you write?

I write so that I can bring hope to women.

5. What would you be doing with your free time if you weren’t writing?

Probably mentoring and hanging out with my kids and grandkids even more than I am now!~

6. What are you working on right now?

Right now I am working on a book with a Bible study called, Praise Your Way To Confidence.

7. Do you put yourself into your books/characters?

Yes, in every book I include personal stories. I am an extremely authentic writer.

8. Tell us about the book you have out right now.

My most recent book is The 30 Day Praise Challenge For Parents. It is a devotional book for parents teaching them to praise God above whatever is happening in their kid’s lives. Each day challenges the reader to spend 20 minutes praising God and includes different song suggestions from today’s top Contemporary Christian artists.

9. Do you have any advice for other writers?

My advice to other writers is first and foremost press into Jesus. If you know He’s called you to write – never give up.

10. How important is faith in your books?

Faith is essential to all my books!

11. What themes do you like to write about?

The theme I am writing about most right now is praising God. I believe that if I can teach women to unleash the power of praise in their lives, their lives will change. Learning to praise God consistently was the greatest key to my soul transformation. So I am passionate about teaching the concept to other women!

12. What is your favorite book you’ve written and why?

The 30 Day Praise Challenge because I am watching what God is doing with it and hearing the stories of lives transformed.

13. What is your writing schedule like?

I write best in the morning. Sometimes when I am under pressure to really finish a project I will go away by myself for a few days to focus completely on writing.
