Interview with the hero from Forever Her Hero by Belle Calhoune:
1. Sawyer Trask, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I’m a Coast Guard officer who just completed a year long mission in Africa. And I recently purchased a lighthouse.
2. What do you do for fun?
I love boats and the ocean. I enjoy going out on the water on my boat. And I enjoy spending time with my cousin Billy’s twins.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I need to have a conversation with my best friend, Ava, and tell her a few things I should have told her two years ago. It won’t be easy, but I have to do it.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
I’m most afraid of losing another person that I love.
5. What do you want out of life?
I’m at a point in my life where I want a family and a wife. I want the dream – the kids, the house, the wife, the dog. And I want to share it all with my family and continue to work with the Coast Guard.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
Family is the single most important thing in my life.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I like biographies. I just finished reading a great book about Babe Ruth.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be more open with my heart romantically. For so long I’ve been afraid to go after the love I’ve always wanted. That needs to change.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
No, I don’t have a pet. Because I was in Africa for a year on a mission I couldn’t own one. But now that I’m back I really want to look for a rescue dog.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would go back to the time right before I entered the Coast Guard academy and I would tell Ava how I felt about her. I would reach for the brass ring with both hands.
