This week I’m hosting Valerie Hansen’s Family in Hiding (2 copies worldwide), Katy Lee’s Grave Danger (US only), and Beth Vogt’s Somebody Like You. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on your post with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (May 11th) evening.

FAMILY IN HIDING SINGLEInterview with the hero from Family in Hiding by Valerie Hansen:

1. Dylan McIntyre, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Hey, I’m still alive. It doesn’t get more interesting than that! And by the way, you probably should call me “John Smith.”

2. What do you do for fun?

Breathe in and breathe out. Considering what’s been going on in my life, I figure that’s my best bet. Beyond just staying alive, I love to be with my family no matter what we’re doing. All I have to do now is convince my wife, Grace.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Listen, I’ve been learning the hard way that it’s best to not put off the inevitable. I made some serious mistakes but by the grace of God, literally, I’m being given a chance to put things right. And I will.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

A short time ago I would have answered this question differently because my priorities were mixed up. Now, it’s not actual death I fear, although I’ve been dancing with it for some time, it’s the thought of leaving my family that tears me up.

5. What do you want out of life?

The freedom and the life I almost lost with Grace and the kids. God – and the Witness Protection Program, have given me a second chance. I’m not going to fail this time.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

I used to think that the law degree hanging on the wall of my office was the most important. Not anymore. Now, it’s my faith and family.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

If there’s ever a time when I can relax and quit looking over my shoulder for assassins, I suppose I’d enjoy procedural fiction – as long as I’m not the one running from the cops!

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Change? Hey, I’ve already changed so much, inside and out, I hardly recognize myself. It’s hard to believe so much has happened so fast. All I want now is to repair the damage my old self did and start over.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

The kids always wanted a pet. Under the present circumstances I’m glad they don’t have one. Maybe, when all this is over, I’ll get them a dog.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

Ah, finally an easy question. If I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, I’d tell Munders that if he wants to certify shady adoptions to leave me out of it. And then I’d gather enough evidence to go to the police and have his whole organization shut down. As a matter of fact, that’s what I’m trying to do right now. With the Lord’s help.
