scavengerhuntThank you so much for participating in the Spring Scavenger Hunt Stop #12. I have done this every year and love meeting all the people who come through. I’m hosting Susan Sleeman, a fantastic romantic suspense author. I’m thrilled to share her information with you.

Before we get started I want to remind everyone to visit every stop for the word clues you will need to enter the grand prize drawing at the end of the scavenger hunt. So don’t forget the clue in red at the end and the link to Stop #13. Also I will be running a bonus giveaway for this stop. So check it out after you read all about Susan Sleeman.

The first stop on the hunt is at: http://www.robinleehatcher.com/scavenger-hunt-stop-1/ in case you need to start at the beginning.

Prizes for Scavenger Hunt (contest you enter at the end of hunt):

Grand Prize: Kindle Fire HDX (valued at $229) plus a $100 Kindle gift certificate.
Runners-up: two winners will each get a complete set of all 32 novels

In case you find a broken link…

We have prepared a page with direct links to each author’s post in case a site goes down or a link gets broken. We’ll be working on getting all of the links prior to the start of the hunt, but sometimes there are still issues even after the hunt starts, so make a note of the URL for the Participating Authors & Stops page so you can check back and be able to complete the hunt.

Dark Tide by Susan SleemanFloating Homes

What could be more relaxing than coming home from work to your houseboat or floating home on the river? Settle into your lounger and let the water lapping at the sides of boat wash away your stress. Get lost in the stars twinkling overhead. Listen to the gentle rhythm of the water. Sounds perfect right? It is and Portland, Oregon has many floating home communities on the Columbia River.

Wanting a unique setting for Dark Tide, I had to feature one such community. Now, of course, I write romantic suspense, so this idyllic setting had to change. Insert an overcast sky with threatening clouds. Fingers of fog creeping over the edge of the deck. A quiet mist coating everything, the deck’s planks slippery and dangerous. A killer moored in a smaller boat in the middle of the river. The sliver of moon outlining him and his gun. Then you have the opening scene of Dark Tide, the fifth and final book in my Justice Agency series.

So check out this amazing video of floating homes on the Columbia River and use your imagination to transform it into my opening scene. Then let me know what you think about this type of lifestyle. Could you live on a houseboat?
