When Barbara was first introduced to her husband in college she knew she would never date the man.  He was a graduate student getting a PhD in physics, and Barbara had purposely taken a second year of biology in high school to avoid taking physics.  So much for first impressions.  They have been married forty years and still approach life from very different angles.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Barbara taught math and science to deaf high school students for a couple of years until the birth of her first child.  When her youngest child started school, Barbara decided to fulfill a life-long dream and began writing.  After both her children left home, she went back to teaching high school deaf.

She is a former president of the Dallas Area Romance Writers and the program director for Ready Writers, D/FW ACRW chapter.  Barbara presently lives in Plano, Texas with her husband.  Her latest book, Fresh-Start Ranch is her 15th release. Visit her at her webpage www.leannharris.com or barbharrison.com.

Blurb for A Ranch to Call Home by Leann Harris:

A Cowboy’s Promise

The thrill of the rodeo is gone for cowboy Caleb Jensen.  Nowadays, he helps out at the Texas ranch, keeping bad memories locked away.  Then the owner’s granddaughter unexpectedly returns home—with a request he can’t accept.  Former army captain Brenda Kaye is organizing a charity rodeo, and she needs Caleb to get back into the saddle.  She determined to save her family’s ranch, even if it means working with the smart-aleck cowboy—and uncovering the mysteries that lie in their pasts.  Brenda’s used to the dangers of war, but if she trusts Caleb, could the next casualty be her heart?

A Captain for Laura RoseBio for Stephanie Grace Whitson:

With the spring 2014 release of A Captain for Laura Rose, best-selling, award-winning author Stephanie Grace Whitson will have twenty-five novels and two works of non-fiction to her credit. She received her MA in History from Nebraska Wesleyan University in May of 2012 and is a frequent guest speaker/lecturer on a variety of historical and inspirational topics for both civic organizations and church groups. Her husband and blended family, her church, historical research, antique quilts, and Kitty—her motorcycle—all rank high on her list of “favorite things.” Learn more at www.stephaniewhitson.com or www.Facebook.com/stephaniegracewhitson.

Blurb for A Captain for Laura Rose by Stephanie Grace Whitson:

Laura Rose White’s late father taught her everything he knew about piloting a Missouri River steamboat. He even named their boat after her. Despite that, it seems that Laura will forever be a “cub pilot” to her brother Joe, because in 1867, a female riverboat captain is unheard of. The only way for her to overcome the nearly insurmountable odds is with the help of her brother’s disreputable friend Finn MacKnight, a skilled pilot with a terrible reputation. Laura loathes having to accept MacKnight as her co-pilot, especially when she learns she must also provide passage for his two sisters. Straight-laced Fiona has a fear of water, and unpredictable Adele seems much too comfortable with the idea of life in the rough and tumble environment of the untamed river and the men who ply it. Though they are thrown together by necessity, this historic journey may lead Laura and the MacKnights to far more than they ever expected.

Publisher’s Weekly says: “Whitson weaves a fine thread of faith into each relationship and plot development, giving readers a view of maturity through trials …  a vivid portrait of life on the Missouri River … lively dialogue keeps the story’s pace clipping along … strong secondary characters … contribute to subplots that add depth.

Romantic Times says: “ … all the makings of a great romance:  love, intrigue, mystery, and unforgettable characters.” 4 Stars

Largest pic LDBio for Christina Lindsay:

Christine Lindsay was born in Ireland, and is proud of the fact that she was once patted on the head by Prince Philip when she was a baby. Her great grandfather, and her grandfather—yes father and son—were both riveters on the building of the Titanic. Tongue in cheek, Christine states that as a family they accept no responsibility for the sinking of that great ship.

It was stories of her ancestors who served in the British Cavalry in Colonial India that inspired her Multi-award-winning, historical series Twilight of the British Raj. Londonderry Dreaming is her first romance set in Ireland.

Christine makes her home in British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada with her husband and their grown up family. Her cat Scottie is chief editor on all Christine’s books.

LONDONDERRY DREAMING

Blurb for Londonderry Dreaming by Christina Lindsay:

Acclaimed New York artist, Naomi Boyd, and music therapist, Keith Wilson, loved one another five years ago, until her grandfather with his influence over Naomi separated them.

That root of bitterness keeps them apart until a letter from Keith’s grandmother, Ruth, draws Naomi to Londonderry to find she’s too late. Ruth has passed on. After the death of his beloved grandmother, Keith has also come to Londonderry only to open the door to his past…Naomi…beautiful as ever, the girl who broke his heart.

A mysterious painting in Ruth’s attic brings up questions about their grandparents’ entwined past and their own broken romance. But more comfortable with the unspoken languages of art and music, Naomi and Keith find it difficult to share their old hurts and true feelings.

Will the majestic coastline of Northern Ireland inspire them to speak the words to bring peace to their grandparents’ memory and to rekindle love?
