This week I’m hosting Donita Paul with One Realm Beyond (US only) and Ruth Reid with A Miracle of Hope (US only). If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (Feb. 2nd) evening.
Interview with the hero from A Miracle of Hope by Ruth Reid:
1. Josiah Plank, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I live in a small Amish settlement in Michigan U.P. and run a sawmill with my father-in-law.
2. What do you do for fun?
I don’t have much time for fun. My wife died in a tragic accident and now I spend all my spare time taking care of our deaf daughter.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I put off sending my daughter to school. Since her mother’s death, she’s stopped communicating.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
My daughter keeps wandering off and I’m afraid she will get lost or injured. That’s why I agreed to an arranged marriage.
5. What do you want out of life?
Now that I’ve remarried, I want my daughter to accept her new mother.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
Honoring God is the most important thing. Family is second.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I read the Bible daily. I also share the scriptures through sign language with my daughter.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My ability to fall in love again. It’s difficult to be married to someone in name only.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I have two horses. One is a draft horse that I use for hauling lumber. The other one is my buggy horse.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
If I could travel back in time, I would go back to the day I was cutting timber . . . It’s hard to talk about. I lost my wife that day and my daughter spent several months in a coma.
Sounds like a great book
