IHeart Failure covernterview with the hero from Heart Failure, by Richard L. Mabry, MD:

1. Adam Davidson, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Wow, I’m so consumed right now with getting things right with Carrie, it’s hard to think about myself. I guess the most interesting thing about me is that I’ve managed to live a lie for such a long time—first as I planned the event that made me a marked man, then as I moved from place to place and name to name to escape the consequences. But I hope to bring that to a close soon.

2.  What do you do for fun?

When I was in law school, I played flag football with friends. I still like to watch college and pro football, although I haven’t had much time for it lately.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

No question there. I put off telling Carrie the truth—because I knew what it might do to our relationship.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

I’m afraid that Carrie will break off our relationship, or even worse, that in their attempts to kill me, someone will kill Carrie instead.

5.  What do you want out of life?

Right now, what I want is to stop running. I want to settle down and start a family. But I have to get some things settled before that can happen.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

I guess Carrie’s love and respect ranks number one on my wish list right now.

7.  Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

In college, and to a lesser extent while in law school, I read mysteries. Now it seems like I’m living in one.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’d like to be Keith Branson again.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I had a dog when I was growing up. His name was Rags, and I loved that mutt. When I lived in Chicago, Bella had a cat named Cotton. I hated Cotton. Actually, I hate all cats. But I quickly learned that you don’t cross Bella.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

That’s easy. I’d go back to the first time I met Bella DeLuca and her father, Charlie. And when I did, I’d turn and run as fast as I could. But I can’t do that, so I guess I’m going to have to keep struggling to make things right again.
