1. Georgie, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m a World War II flight nurse. Although my job is important, and I love caring for wounded soldiers, I’m afraid I’m in over my head. I’m thankful I can lean on my friends, Rose and Mellie, my fellow “nightingales,” bringing mercy on wing. They say I’m the heart of the squadron, but I wish I had Rose’s strong backbone or Mellie’s adventurous wings.

2. What do you do for fun?

I love to sew and knit, and I find it very relaxing. I’ve made the cutest sundresses for my friends. They tease me, asking when I’m going to sew curtains for our canvas tent.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Making decisions.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

I’m afraid I’ll have to make a quick decision as a flight nurse, and I’ll fail. It breaks my heart to think of anything bad happening to one of our poor sweet wounded boys in uniform.

5. What do you want out of life?

All I want is to go back to Virginia where my family is so I can marry my high school sweetheart and set up our home. However, I’m beginning to wonder if serving here in Italy is good for me. Maybe I need a little dirt and danger to grow.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

My family and friends. They mean everything to me.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I don’t have much time to read, but I do enjoy a nice romantic story.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’d like to become decisive. I want to grow, to be the kind of woman who is strong and confident, while remaining compassionate and feminine.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

Not here in Italy, but back home I have a gorgeous and very wise horse named Hammie.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

What Southern belle wouldn’t want to go back in time to the early 1800s? I love all the beautiful gowns and the gracious way of living.
