This week I’m hosting Marsha Hubler with Love Song for Louellen (no giveaway), Darlene Franklin with A Texas Brides Collection and Kathleen Fuller with Letters to Katie (no giveway). If you want to enter the drawings for the Darlene’s book, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (May 26th) evening.
Interview with the heroine: Louellen Friesen, the main character in LOVE SONG FOR LOUELLEN, Volume Three in THE LOVES OF SNYDER COUNTY, Amish/Mennonite fiction:
1. Louellen Friesen, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I am a Mennonite woman in her twenties married to a wunderbaar man, Eli. We were Old Order Amish until we were shunned by our Ordnung.
2. What do you do for fun? I love attending the Snyder County Quilting Bee every Thursday evening in our church social room or at each others’ homes. We eight to ten ladies make beautiful quilts for missionaries who are home on furlough, for newlyweds, and for newborn babies.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? I absolutely love to bake, not only for Eli but for the Tuesday Farmers’ Market. But, ach, I hate doing that mountain of dishes, pots, and pans after I bake dozens of bread loaves, pies, and apple dumplings every week.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? Ever since we’ve been shunned, I fear never seeing my Amish parents again before they die.
5. What do you want out of life? I want to have kinner (children) who will grow up to love the Lord and serve Him faithfully.
6. What is the most important thing to you? What’s most important to me is my relationship with Jesus Christ, my Savior.
7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? Don’t get a bee in your bonnet, but I don’t have much time to read. However, I do read my Biewel (Bible) every day with several devotional books.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? If I could change one thing about my life, I would like to be more patient with the good Lord’s timing in seeing my Amish family come to know Jesus as their Savior.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? I don’t have any pets in the house, but we have cows, chickens, and a horse or two on our farm. Did you ever have a pet chicken?
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? If I could travel back in time, I would erase a secret sin in my life with Dr. McAndrew that I know Gott has forgiven, but my memory has still not erased that.
