1. Jim, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I know how to make money, how to grow a business, how to set goals and achieve them, how to persuade people to do what you want them to do. But none of this matters now because, it’s becoming clear to me, I don’t know how to love my wife.

2.  What do you do for fun?

I am an amazing golfer. Seriously, with a little more time and a little more practice I think I could earn a spot on the Senior PGA tour.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Communicating with my wife or my kids―who are all adults now―at a heart level. I’d rather do almost anything else but that.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Failing…at anything. Second to that, people seeing me fail.

5.  What do you want out of life?

Up until a short while ago, I would have said “success.” Now I would say, I want my wife back beside me and happy to be with me again.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Marilyn.

7.  Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I’ve never made time for books in my life, unless it’s a book everybody is buzzing about in the business world. Recently, I picked up a book my wife put on my nightstand several months ago about how to find happiness in your marriage. It’s a hard read. Maybe painful is a better word.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

That I would be a better listener and learn to hear people’s hearts, not react so quickly to things they say.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

No. When my kids were little they always wanted a dog, but I always said no. I think that was a mistake.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I would go back to my wedding day, and when it came time for the bride and groom to dance their first dance, I would immediately stand up, take Marilyn’s hand and lead her to the center of the dance floor.
