This week I’m hosting Angela Breidenbach with A Healing Heart and Sharon Srock with Callie. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (April 7th) evening.

1.Mara Keegan, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I suppose other people think I’m really successful. They like my designs, the colors I combine, and the jobs I provide for my community. The artistic side of me comes from my Crow heritage. I loved sitting at my grandmother’s knee learning to bead and combine colors. Secretly, I’d love to teach quilting and art classes. Maybe someday. Someday never seems to come though. There are so many more important things than what I wish I could do. Why do people keep bugging me about it?

2.  What do you do for fun? I love to create quilts and draw in my sketchbook. Designing something both useful and beautiful really makes me feel fulfilled. The challenge of making aesthetically pleasing demonstration uniforms for the K-9 team would have been so much fun if I weren’t so busy.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it? I really don’t like doing the financials for my business. I have so many other things on my mind. I’d rather be creating art.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life? I don’t want to fail people that rely on me. So many families need the jobs I provide. I can’t imagine letting those families down. I see hungry children and cold homes in my mind and that propels me to work harder.

5.  What do you want out of life? I want to live out my life without letting my children down like their father did. I want them to have the opportunities to live out their dreams they way I didn’t.

6.  What is the most important thing to you? My children. I wish they knew I worked so hard for them. I don’t think they believe me though. That hurts.

7.  Do you read? I love art history books. If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? When I read design books, they spur me to create my own designs.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I’d laugh more. I’d be able to spend more time with my children and laugh with them instead of being mom and dad. I crave those times in the past when we simply played together.

9.  Do you have a pet? Yes. If so, what is it and why that pet? Louie is an amazing old dog. He’s been with me through the birth of my children, the death of my husband, and calms me when I stress over work.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I’d go back to the day my husband bought that horrible snow mobile. I’d tell him no! No! You can’t buy that monster!
