1. Lillie Beaumont, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m pretty low key. I went to a local college and now work for the government at Fort Rickman, Georgia, as the commanding general’s secretary. It’s a great job that allows me to interact with folks from both the military and civilian communities.

2. What do you do for fun?

I never allowed much time for fun in my life until I met Dawson. Now we go on picnics and take long drives through the countryside.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I didn’t want to learn about the past and have been blocking the truth about the night my mother left town. Also I refused to open the box of keepsakes tucked in the back of my closet. My foster mother collected the mementoes for me after the fire, but I’ve never had the courage to see what the box contained.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

I’m afraid to learn the truth about my birth mother. Most of all, I’m afraid to learn she left town because of something I did. That has been a terrible weight to carry all these years. If it hadn’t been for Dawson, I don’t think I ever would have learned what really happened to her.

5. What do you want out of life?

I want what every woman wants–a husband, children, a family. Growing up, I never thought a happily-ever-after would be in my future. Of course, everything changed after I met Dawson. He made me realize that good things are in store for both of us.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

God comes first now. Unfortunately, I had closed Him out of my life for too long. Naturally, Dawson is so important too. Then my parents, my country, my home.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I love historical romance because it transports me to another time and place.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wouldn’t have blamed myself for the past. Plus, I wouldn’t have given Dawson such a hard time when he was trying to protect me. I should have been more aware of the danger. Thank goodness, he found me before it was too late.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

No pets yet. I’ve always lived alone. Recently Dawson has been talking about getting a dog. If he does, I hope it’s a Yellow Labrador. They’re loveable and good with children.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I would love to have lived in Savannah, Georgia, in the early 1800s. I’ve always found the historical district enchanting with its beautiful squares and lovely homes. To get a peek at the way life really was in those days would be such a thrill.
