Interview with the heroine from Lady White by Gina Bovyn:

1. Alina, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Hmmm. . .Well, I believe the most interesting thing about me would have to be the skills I acquired afore my life in Linolae began. As a former assassin, I learned many a technique in the art of weaponry, most unusual for a maiden in the Realms of Higher Law. I daresay I never met a lass who knew the difference between a scissors-hold and block, nor preferred breeches to a dress. But even though that life is far behind me now, my know-how in defense is very useful in my new position as Linolae’s head.

2.  What do you do for fun?

When I find the extra time for amusement, I highly enjoy a good duel on the training grounds with my husband.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I find I tend to put off speaking judgment when a villager comes with a complaint toward his fellow. I feel myself at times unworthy to pass judgment on people who have not done even a mite of the evil I’ve committed. But I always remember Asala’s words, in that in Christ I am no longer what I once was.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Though I try not to be affrighted of it, I fear my children learning of what I once was and thinking me a monster.

5.  What do you want out of life?

My greatest desire is to follow well in Asala’s footsteps and leave a legacy in my kingdom. Linolae is the greatest kingdom in the Realms and I wish it to thrive under my care.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Liridon ranks highly on this list, but I must say the most important thing in my life would have to be my faith. Without it, I would have never become the woman I am today.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

While I lay down for slumber most always I read a bit afore my eyes grow heavy, and usually it’s the leather-bound book Asala gifted me with some summers ago, which is the Word of God.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My short fuse and hot temper. Yet I believe ‘tis much better than afore.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

My mare is my only pet, a great companion she is when we go on the hunt.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

If I could go back to days afore, I’d take myself back to that well in Aelah where my father stood before me. So much bitterness and hate flowed through my veins when I looked upon him then. Rather than reacting the way I did, I’d like to tell him I forgive him of all the wrongs committed towards me and my mother. I’d tell him of the power even greater than his authority in the Realms and of the love, peace, and wholeness found in the presence of God.
