Interview with the heroine from Dark Alleys by Lillian Duncan:
1. Tessa, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I was a homeless alcoholic but am on the road to recovery these days. It’s not easy but I’m trying to rebuild my life with God’s help.
2. What do you do for fun?
Fun? Mmm. I’m not very good at that yet, but I suppose I have fun while I jog every morning. And I have a new job that I’m enjoying.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I don’t like getting my hair cut. I like the look afterwards but during the haircut—not so much. After all who wants to sit in a chair and have someone coming at you with scissors.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
Taking a drink—my alcoholism took me to a DARK ALLEY where I witnessed a murder and almost became his second victim. I never want to go in that dark alley again.
5. What do you want out of life?
I want to help other people who make a mess out of their life the way I did. God helped me and I want to help others. I succeeded in rebuilding my life and so can they if they make the right choices.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
God and my sobriety.
7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read
I like to read romances with happy endings!
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I don’t think I would change anything because then I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I like the person I’m becoming.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I don’t have a pet because I live in an apartment, but one day I would love to have a dog. After all, dogs love you unconditionally—just the way God does.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would go back to pioneer times. I think I would have made a great pioneer woman!
