This week I’m hosting  with Diane Burke with Silent Witness, Renee Ryan with Charity House Courtship, Jennifer Fromke with A Familiar Shore (if winner lives outside of US the book will be an ebook), and Cara Lynn James with A Path Toward Love. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (August 19th) evening.

Interview with the heroine from Silent Witness by Diane Burke:

1. Lizzie Bradford, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m a small town sheriff, following in my daddy’s footsteps. Might not be the most interesting thing in the world but I don’t think there are too many female sheriffs around.

2.  What do you do for fun?

I take my patrol car and ride around the streets of my little town at night. Sometimes I can see dad’s coming home from work and being greeted by their wife or their kids at the door. Sometimes I see families gathered around their dinner table. Sometimes I’ll go through the park and spot some of the local kids shooting hoops at the basketball court. I like feeling my town’s safe. That’s fun for me.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Housework. Close second is cooking. I’m not a big fan of either.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Missing something that might cost someone their life. Had that happen to me once. Don’t ever want to have it happen to me again.

5.  What do you want out of life?

Same thing most people want. Love, respect, family.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Being the best person I know how to be. Being compassionate and reliable and loving—as well as tough enough to kick the bad guy’s butts.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I love mystery and suspense. You’d think I’d have enough of it since it’s part of my job but I love trying to figure things out or just sit back and let someone else handle the bad guys for a change.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’d be shorter. I’m big-boned and tall. Would have loved to be more petite and feminine. But I guess the good Lord knew what he was doing. A petite feminine sheriff might not be as good at my kind of job. Who knows?

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

No pets. But if I did it would probably be a dog. Dogs can go jogging with you and I love to jog.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’d go back to my teenage years, knowing what I know now, and I’d try to reach out more to Luke. Yeah, that’s what I’d do. I’d try to be there more for my brother when he needed me.
